Football fans will remember when a severe snow storm tore a hole in the roof of the Metrodome on December 12, 2012. The dome of the Vikings’ stadium was replaced, but what would they do with all the material from the previous roof? Female Vikings fans might be excited to hear they can carry a piece of the old dome on their arm in the form of a handbag.

The Duluth Company is creating a unique line of duffel and handbags out of the leftover material from the collapsed dome. The dome actually consisted of two layers, and the inner layer is perfect for making handbags. Duluth Pack’s production manager Dave Merrill said that, “The inner layer is very flexible and extremely durable, making it an excellent fabric for use in bag manufacturing.”

The bags will be a part of an exclusive line that will be make its debut at the Minnesota State Fair. Any woman claiming to be a die-hard Vikings fan would have to have one of these limited edition purses. Named the “Domer”, the handbags will sell for $160 and the backpack version will sell for $485. Ironically, due to the NFL’s new bag policy, neither of the bags can be brought into the stadium.
