According to a recent Retail Dive report, 42 percent of holiday shoppers are using their mobile devices to do their shopping for the holidays. What does that mean for your business if you haven’t paid much attention to your mobile site?

The report, which overviewed the findings from a Citi Retail Services survey, found that while a good amount of Gen Z and Gen X shoppers said they’d be shopping via mobile, there is still a good amount of people also hopping online via computer and even 73 percent venturing out to shop actual brick and mortar locations.

So, yes. You need to optimize for the mobile experience because that’s where shoppers of tomorrow are doing most of their buying, but you cannot forget about the other experiences – online and in-store that play a critical role in earning loyalty and repeat business.

Interestingly, the survey results also showed an increase in younger consumers using voice assistants to help with their shopping (something important to note as you plan future marketing and search budgets) and that most shoppers admitted they’d shop a store with a loyalty or rewards program tied to their spending.
