Baroque

A style from the 1600s made a huge comeback this past year. Whether it was a Baroque inspired handbag or outfit, women were seen joining the Baroque movement in some way. The over the top, lavish artistry was definitely a top trend of 2012 that we may see roll over into the New Year.

Wedge Sneakers

After some celebrities were seen walking the streets in wedge sneakers, the trend became popular. The comfy wedge that looks like a sneaker was a big hit in 2012.

Glasses

Remember when kids with glasses were made fun of for having four eyes? Well in 2012, if you only had two eyes you were the outsider. Big-framed eye glasses, whether they are prescribed or not, were a big fashion statement for celebrities and your average Joe. They seemed to be most popular with All-Star basketball players, giving them a studious look.

Mixing Prints

In 2012, matching your top with your pants became a fashion no-no. Mixing the prints on your top and bottom became the new “matching” outfit. Whether you wore polka dots with stripes or florals with animal print, mixing was the way to go last year.
