Looking Ahead in the Western Handbag World

You’re looking in your closet and you are not happy with what you see. Frankly, there are too many dresses, skirts and handbags you’ve worn more than a few hundred times. So you’ve decided to donate or throw out most of these and start working on rebuilding a fresh, vibrant selection in your closet. However, are you well-versed in what’s up and coming with fashion trends? It can be hard just keeping up with handbag trends alone.

Luckily, we’re here to share some of the best styles and new looks that will be all over the sidewalk this fall and winter. It may be cold outside, but we can help you make sure your handbag is hot:

Embellishments – We’ve discussed embellishments on your handbags before, but this fall and winter, everyone is going to be focused on what elements they can add to their purses. Start now by picking up some magnetic pendants and rhinestone crosses. Begin adding these to your older handbags that you still love. You will give them a new flash of style while bringing your look up-to-date this fall and winter. If you’re not much of a sewer, pick up a handbag with embroidery or sparkling attachments.

Big Color – We’re not referencing huge bright color, but instead, large sections of color on your bags. This fall will see a shift from the overly-patterned designer bags of the last few years, moving from these patterns to more solid shapes of color. These bags will have an art-deco feel, featuring – at most – three colors that take up separate blocks on your purse.

Pizazz – Keeping with the trend of embellishments, be on the lookout for more handbags with patterns cut into the actual material instead of being printed directly on. Leather will have a woven look and other materials will be cut to have a lacy feel.
