Animal print has been seen on many celebrities, including Katherine Heigl from Grey's Anatomy.

Katherine Heigl is seen with an animal print hobo handbag. Photo from Bag That Style.

Animal print has been one popular style this past year. This has included jungle animal prints like zebra, leopard, and cheetah; farm animal like cows; and reptiles like snake, alligator, and crocodile. For the high-end handbags, the print almost always comes from the real thing, with the exception of jungle animals. Additionally, the print may even be colored. We’ve seen on this blog, so far, dyed snakeskin, reverse cheetah spots on Dita von Teese, and crocodile skin dyed a solid color. In general, these bags are a solid print and, without any embellishments, this serves to highlight the actual print, be it natural or dyed.

For celebrity spotting of this style, Grey’s Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl was seen with such a handbag recently. Her bag, with is a leopard print hobo purse, is colored fully with a natural-looking leopard print. Although not from the animal, the printed color scheme on the patent leather handbag is designed to have the appearance of real leopard spots. Additionally, this particular handbag visits another trend seen this past year: patent leather. A similarly-styled clutch was seen on Halle Berry a few months ago – patent leather with a leopard skin print. The main difference, aside from manufacturers, is that Berry’s purse doesn’t use any yellow and, instead, is gold-colored with black spots.

While the celebrities may be at the forefront for such styles, what is the average consumer to do? One option is to go down the wholesale or designer-inspired route. In the case of Best Handbag Wholesale, various handbags with this type of print are available for stores to sell. These bangs can be leopard print with a tote bag style or else a hobo style is another option with the same material. Just like the handbags seen on the celebrities, these purses are a solid animal print with no other embellishments.

Animal and reptile skin prints are popular this season, and such designs as leopard print and snakeskin can be seen on celebrities.

Animal prints on handbags are everywhere this season, and, as seen by a recent post on blog The Purse Page, even actress Halle Berry has been spotted with a leopard print handbag — although excuse the pun. The brand of bag she is carrying is apparently a Louis Vuitton clutch, but handbags in wholesale and by more affordable brands are still made with this pattern, including handbags by Best Handbag Wholesale. Leopard print is one popular pattern this season, but so are other animal skins, and that includes cow and cheetah skins, as well as snake, alligator, and crocodile prints. Designer brands, especially for reptile skins, may use the real deal, but many affordable handbags instead use printed leather or patent leather.

As seen by the purse Halle Berry is sporting, the animal print doesn’t always need to seem authentic. While her leopard print purse looks like it was printed on patent leather, similar purses also print cloth with leopard or cheetah print. Cow skin, on the other hand, varies with the brand, and some western clothing makers may create handbags or wallets made from authentic cow skin, while others may use fake fur and have it printed with a black and white cow skin pattern.

What is somewhat more popular this season is reptile skin prints, and this includes alligator, crocodile, and snake skins. Some top designers use real skins to make these handbags, while other manufacturers have the skin pattern printed on leather or patent leather. Although the natural appearance of these reptile skins is popular, so is dying the skin a solid color, and both designer and affordable, designer-inspired brands dye the snake or alligator skin a bright color like purple, lime green, or pink. In addition, this skin pattern comes in a variety of style bags, from larger hobo bags to clutch style purses.
